The Australian Society of Marine Artists is a body of diverse artists and others interested in marine and maritime art . . . painters, lithographers and printmakers, sculptors, model-makers, historians and students.

Among our members we have every painting style represented - from traditional to contemporary, realist to abstract.

Please visit the Membership page for details of how to apply, and browse the Gallery pages to see the breadth of ASMA members' work. Amongst our members are artists of international stature and fellows of other prominent Art Societies. We also warmly welcome students and less experienced artists.

If you would like to discuss membership we have a local Vice-president in each state - please contact the Secretary for the local contact details.

Artist in Residence Programme

In 2008 the Sydney Heritage Fleet, in conjunction with the Australian Society of Marine Artists, inaugurated an Artist in Residence programme. Selected artists spend 3 to 4 months at the Museum sites on a minimum basis of, say, 3 days per week.
